The Power of Employer Branding

The Power of Employer Branding

Rubicon Project has always had a central commitment to its people. Recently, the People Team participated in Glassdoor’s first-ever Employer Branding Summit in San Francisco.  The one-day event featured contributions from well-known thought leaders in the world of talent acquisition who discussed and examined current trends in employer branding and heard about some of our own experience too.  Topics up for discussion included brand storytelling, content marketing for recruitment and optimizing branding resources.

Josh Bersin of Bersin by Deloitte, spoke about how the real value proposition comes from your people and how a strong employer brand makes recruitment and retention easier. Additionally, Jen Powell from Deloitte, highlighted how candidates crave authenticity in messaging.  People respond to a meaningful and compelling story told well.

Throughout all of the content, the message was clear – if you don’t have a strong employer brand that excites people about your company and what you do, they’ll look elsewhere.  One important point that was made over and over again was company culture and how it’s the foundation of your employer brand.  Without it, your brand has nowhere to go.

I realized how well-positioned Rubicon Project is with our employer brand based on our commitment to people and culture over the past seven years.  With such a well-defined culture – which recognizes transparency, innovation and accountability amongst other attributes – commitment to excellence and people, Rubicon Project has the opportunity to further strengthen our strong team, employer brand, and to tell our story about the power of advertising automation to the rest of the world.
