Rubicon Walks For A Cause

aids-walkOn October 16th 2011, 20 members of the Rubicon Project team participated in the 27th Annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles. The 10km walkathon benefited the AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and over two dozen other local AIDS service organizations. Over the past 26 years, AIDS Walk LA has provided for life-sustaining food, medical and dental care, safe housing, and much more for thousands of Angelenos living with HIV/AIDS. The event has also funded LA County’s largest network of effective and unbiased HIV prevention programs, saving countless lives. Prior to the walk, the team held a fundraiser at Big Dean’s Waterfront Café in Santa Monica to raise money for this amazing cause. Rubicon team members sold raffle tickets as fundraiser attendees enjoyed beer and bar food as the sun set over beautiful Santa Monica. The raffle consisted of a two night stay at Venice’s Hotel Erwin, Grey Goose & VeeV gift baskets, Equinox gym memberships, Whole Foods Market gift certificate and much more. From the money raised at our fundraiser event combined with our online fundraising efforts, we were able to raise over $2700 for AIDS Walk LA. All in all it was a successful evening followed by a great Sunday morning walk to benefit such an important and worthy case. Thank you to all who supported our fundraising efforts and all the individuals who work day in and day out to fight against this devastating epidemic.
