Our current and future relationship with Prebid.org
Part 4 of this series, Garrett McGrath, our VP of Product Management discusses Rubicon Project’s current and future relationship with Prebid.org.
What is Rubicon Project’s relationship with Prebid.org?
Prebid.org, the organization itself came into existence about a year or a year and a half ago. As technology started by AppNexus probably six or 12 months prior to that. We got together with App Nexus and several others in the industry to create the organization. The point of it is to have a open source had a wrapper that can tribute to everyone. It’s open source, it’s free to download and it’s free to use. The point of it is that for everyone to realize having proprietary wrappers was far more trouble than it’s worth.
How do you see Rubicon Project and Prebid.org working together in the future?
We are heavily involved in the organization, we have seats on the board, we have seats in the working groups. It’s something that we are basically centering our business around at least for header bidding which is a major part of our business. We will continue to contribute to the organization, being active members. We think it’s a proper way forward in a header bidding world to operate on a set of standards that makes it easier for publishers to adapt header bidding and make the most out of it.
My name is Garrett McGrath, I’m the VP of Product Management here at Rubicon Project.
