AMQP PHP binding v1.0.0 released!

We’re pleased to announce the release of the first stable version of our AMQP PHP binding. We’ve relied heavily on RabbitMQ to handle real-time message passing throughout our infrastructure stack, and have a policy of emitting a message for every individual piece of potentially actionable information while letting listeners zero in on information that they can use to perform tasks. Our approach has allowed our system to scale rapidly, pushing millions of messages around every day while still remaining flexible enough to let each listener determine what interests them.

For all this to happen we had to take a serious look at some of our codebase, especially the PHP AMQP binding. We have rewritten the client from the group up to support the full 0-9-1 AMQP specification, provide better error handling, and plug all the memory leaks. We’ve also drastically changed the API to be more intuitive and easier to use in large development environments that require proper exception handling to be redundant and resilient. Since the project has been downloaded over 50,000 times to date, we wanted to share our work with the rest of the Open Source community and benefit from our findings!
