Independent Data Platform Pixalate Ranks Rubicon Project Among The Best of the Best in Quality – And a Leader in Commitment to Combat Malware

LOS ANGELES – May 20, 2015 – Rubicon Project (NYSE: RUBI), a global technology provider leading the automation of advertising, was named one of the top global platforms for quality digital advertising in Pixalate’s latest Global Seller Trust Index. The Company received the highest possible score (99) in the malware category, demonstrating Rubicon Project’s deep commitment to a clean well-lit advertising marketplace. Rubicon Project was also recognized for having the highest quality inventory for buyers to access across five of the top IAB verticals, including the Arts and Entertainment, Automotive, Hobbies and Interests, Sports, and Fashion categories. This recognition comes after the recent announcement that Rubicon Project’s President, Gregory R. Raifman, would join the Trustworthy Accountability Group (TAG) as a founding board member. TAG is dedicated to leading the industry’s efforts to counter ad-supported piracy, malware and other critical challenges in the digital communications supply chain.

The quality rating standard by Pixalate highlights the strength of Rubicon Project’s leadership position with respect to exceptional domain and inventory quality, least amount of masked inventory with the highest levels of engagement, leadership position in viewability, and safeguards against malware. Last year, Rubicon Project’s commitment to delivering the highest quality platform for both buyers and sellers prevented more than 150 billion bad impressions from ever entering the advertising marketplace.

“Engineering world-class technology that addresses the needs and concerns of our industry – particularly around malware, viewability, and transparent quality inventory – has always been a core focus for Rubicon Project,” said Dr. Neal Richter, Chief Technology Officer, Rubicon Project, “Receiving this recognition highlights the work we do each day to ensure a high quality, safe and well-lit environment for our premium sellers and buyers.”

“We all have an active role to play in the growth of a safe, high-quality marketplace,” said Gregory R. Raifman, President, Rubicon Project, “I’m proud that Rubicon Project has taken a stand to invest in creating the best advertising marketplace of the future. Our buyers and sellers globally can rest assured that we continue to offer one of the safest environments to buy and sell advertising available today.”

The monthly Global Seller Trust Index is based upon Pixalate’s proprietary technology that analyzes more than 100 billion monthly impressions and delivers ratings based upon inventory quality and ad performance, along with classic reach ranking. Global quality ratings are based upon a weighted analysis of overall effectiveness assessing malware, fraud, viewability, engagement, domain masking, and network and inventory scores in compliance with recognized industry standards.
